The most recent Bali qualifiers scandal has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian gaming community once more with previous cases involving somalian teams “Mad Night and Horz Esports and now Sidizen Gaming and Active Gaming putting 10N8E in the spotlight of controversy once more.

One of the top Nigerian teams Sidizens Esports has been accused of using a line up that goes against the rules of the competition, with the rules allowing only 1 player outside of Nigeria at the time of the playing of the Grand Finals.

Sidizens Gaming is one of the most accomplished esports team in Nigeria with a lot of wins under their belt and an estimated earning of around $4000 over the course of time, however they failed to win the previous Nigerian Pro League(NPL) with Slime 4kT coming out on top yet again.

On Sunday, 28th August, 2022, there were a lot of complains from teams concerning the Sidizens Esports choice of roster and a case of manipulated fing(a mobile app used to determine players location and network carriers) recording belonging to Eleven one of the fraggers of the team

Eleven's team were most likely to be crowned champions, but players and teams began accusing Eleven of manipulated fing recording and being located in Cyprus at the time of the tournament. On 29th of August, 2022. *10N8E *launched a formal investigation into the breach of trust complained about by teams and players alike.

The accused player Eleven had tendered an apology equally to community and fans before the verdict of the 10N8E investigations regarding his recent move from Nigeria to Cyprus for reasons and duration which he didn’t mention in his explanation posted on his instagram which read, "I hope everyone(both organisers and players) can forgive me and my team for this. We wish all the participating teams goodluck in their endeavours, and hope that the most deserving team is selected to represent Nigeria in Bali".

As a result of the investigations, Sidizens have lost 50 points for Eleven playing 5 games taking them off the top of the table, with active gaming losing 24 points also in a recently released table for supposedly violating terms and conditions alongside 8 other teams which have equally lost points. 03 Brothers have been declared champions in light of recent investigations. However the community is still displeased as majority of the community strongly believe sidizens should be disqualified from this edition and active gaming were unjustly penalised.

What do you think about the final verdict? Should the punishment be stricter on Sidizens? Did Active gaming deserve their penalties ?
